Hello

I am Andrew James McCrindle, a 20 year old bagpiper from the heart of Glasgow, Scotland. I am currently a traditional music student at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and tutor with the Govan Schools and Community Pipe Band.

My Story

My bagpiping career begun at age 9 as a pupil of the Govan Schools pipe band. From here, I went on to seek tuition through the Johnstone pipe band where I worked my way up the ranks from a grade 4b competitor to Grade 1.

My passion for piping grew quickly as I worked extremely hard to keep up and surpass others my age and above.

A couple years down the line, I was accepted in to the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland with whom I performed at various monumental Venues including Buckingham Palace, The Glasgow Royal concert hall and Edinburgh Castle.

In 2021, I decided I wanted to take my Bagpiping to the next level. I applied for a position on the Traditional Music course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, to which, I was accepted!

Alongside my studies, I am now back where I begun with the Govan Schools band, but in a tutoring role.
